Brow hair loss
Losing brow hair can change how you feel about your face. This page is about how your brows look: how semi permanent brows can give you the appearance of a full brow again.
Quick answer
Semi permanent brows place pigment in the skin to recreate the look of brows where hair has been lost. They do not make hair grow. Hairstroke, powder or combination styles can all be used, and a free consultation with Nicola in Belfast decides which suits you.
About the look, not the cause
This page is only about appearance. If you are worried about why your brow hair has thinned or fallen out, please speak to your GP or another health professional. What Nicola can help with is how your brows look.
How semi permanent brows work here
Semi permanent make up, also called permanent make up or micropigmentation, places pigment in the skin. It recreates the look of a brow, but it does not make hair regrow. Nicola’s aim is natural brows that no one knows you have tattooed.
Where hair is missing, the styles work differently:
Hairstroke Brows use fine strokes to recreate the look of natural hairs and create a full looking brow, and may include soft shading for depth.
Ombre Powder Brows use soft shading throughout the brow, a good choice when there is little or no hair left to follow.
Combination Brows place soft strokes at the front and shading through the middle and the tail.
Taking your time
One client, Monica, was very worried and not sure it was the right decision. She said Nicola takes lots of time to explain the procedure and is very supportive afterwards, especially after the first stage when brows look very dark and you can panic. Her advice was to have faith, and she was delighted with the final result.
That is the pace you can expect. The consultation is free, lasts 45 minutes and includes your questions and a patch test before anything is done. The price of a treatment includes a two hour top up 6 to 12 weeks later, and the treatment is not considered complete until then.
Good to know
You cannot have the treatment while pregnant or breast feeding. Semi permanent make up can last up to 5 years, and most people need a touch up every 12 to 18 months. Nicola’s studio is at 181 Upper Lisburn Road, Finaghy, Belfast.

Before and after

What clients say
Nicola was great. I had eyebrows tattooed. Was very worried and not sure if right decision. Nicola takes lots of time to explain procedure and is very supportive after, esp after first stage as eyebrows look very dark and you panic! But have faith. She is great. Delighted with my eyebrows
Nicola recently tattooed my eyebrows and I couldn’t be happier. Having seen her Instagram and Facebook pics I had complete confidence that she could fix my gappy, wayward brows and I’m delighted with the results. The process was pretty painless and actually very relaxing, with minimal aftercare for only a week or so. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Nicola to anyone who wants easy to care for brows that look amazing!
