Over-plucked or gappy brows
Brows that were over-plucked years ago, or that have developed gaps, can be rebuilt. Nicola talks through filling the gaps now, or reshaping while you decide which areas you want to grow back.

Gappy or over-plucked brows can be filled with semi permanent hairstroke or combination brows, which place fine strokes where hair is missing. Why brows end up gappy
Most gaps start with tweezers, waxing or years of trends that changed the shape of a brow. Sometimes the hair simply does not come back the way it was. The question is then whether you want to fill the gaps or work around them.
Filling the gaps
With Hairstroke Brows, fine feathery strokes are placed within the brow to mimic natural hair. Nicola describes the result as natural and fluffy looking hair strokes that create a full looking eyebrow, and she may add soft shading for depth. A client who came with gappy, wayward brows said she had complete confidence after seeing Nicola’s work on Instagram and Facebook, and was delighted with the results.
Combination Brows place soft strokes at the front of the brow and shading through the middle and tail, which suits brows that are gappy in more than one place.
Ombre Powder Brows fill the whole brow with soft shading and are an option when your skin is not suited to hair strokes. Nicola points out that hair strokes may not be suitable for oily skin, and she decides at your consultation which style is right.
Reshaping and letting hair grow
HD Brows is a non permanent, seven step treatment. Nicola describes taking people on a brow journey: a full consultation to understand what your brows are naturally like, how you would ideally like them and whether that is realistic. HD Brows says its wax shaping leaves any areas you want to grow back. Sometimes the look you want is reached in a few treatments, and sometimes it takes many more.
What to expect
A free 45 minute consultation comes first. If you go ahead with a semi permanent treatment, the price includes a two hour top up appointment 6 to 12 weeks later, and the treatment is not considered complete until then. Nicola’s studio is in Finaghy, Belfast, with free on-street parking, and she does not offer evening appointments for tattooing.
